It is with profound sadness that we announce Leo’s passing at the age of 79 at
Leo was predeceased by his parents Albert and Rose and brother Paul. He will be lovingly remembered by his children Lynne (Dave), Joanne (Colin), Joel; their mother Denise, grandchildren Colin and Daniel; his sisters Lucille (Roger) and Denise (Lucien); nieces and nephews.
Also left mourning his death are his loving partner Margaret, who provided support through his illness, as well as her son Darren and wife Tamara. In addition, he will be missed by all the members of Margaret’s family, her siblings, nieces and nephews all of whom adored him.
There are also many of her friends who will miss him as he brought smiles to their faces as well.
Leo retired from his final job at the Winnipeg Mint as a die maker and engraver after 25 years of service. This was a source of great pride to him.
Dad was an avid fisherman and had many fond stories of his time with his fishing buddies. He also found joy tending to his beautiful yard and took pride in his flowers and tomato plants.
Many of us benefited from his ability to fix anything and everything and he was always the first one called with our renovation projects. But mostly Dad will be remembered for his generous spirit and fun-loving nature, his smile and his laughter. He meant a great deal to the people he came to know and care about.
Cremation has taken place and out of respect for his wishes, there will be no formal service. Instead, there will be a memorial bench in Leo’s name at
