With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Ron Leber. Ron a construction worker all his life worked hard and lived to play harder. Silver tongued, quick with the jokes, often rude but always funny. Nothing was off limits and no one was safe from his barbs. All was meant in good humor, everyone was welcome in his home or at his table. He wore his heart on his sleeve you always knew where you stood with Ron. He came off rough at times but those that knew him will all agree Ron had a huge heart. He was loved by so many from all walks of life. Ron was an athletic child and excelled in speed swimming till he found his true passion in hockey where he could pour out all his fire. He had a quick temper and enjoyed a good brawl, a long-time friend coined him “the firecracker” but ultimately he lived to laugh. He loved loud music telling stories all night and the Leafs. He adored his children and family and was always there for a friend. We will all miss you dad it was too soon. He was an intelligent man but he was also stubborn. He died suddenly a few days after being admitted to St Boniface hospital from a completely treatable illness. Rocken Ronnie at the age of 59 died like he lived hard and fast and on his own terms.
