After a short battle with cancer, Judy Halbert passed away peacefully on April 14th, 2019 at the age of 62 years young.
Judy was born on April 20th, 1956 to William and Maryanne Clement. She is survived by her husband Bruce; sons Cory and Aaron (Jocelyne); grandson Austin Kloos; sister Joyce (Ray) Davidson; mother-in-law Ludvena Halbert; sisters-in-law Faith Kopisky and Heather-Sue Duncan; niece Carrie (Steve) Foden; and great-nephew Andrew Foden. Judy is predeceased by her parents William and Maryanne Clement; brothers Gerry and Brian; nephew Kelly Davidson; father-in-law Thomas Halbert; and brothers-in-law Ed Kopisky and Ken Duncan.
Judy had recently retired from a 23 year career as a homecare attendant and had planned to do the things she loved; traveling, gardening and spending time in the sun by the pool. Sadly her time was cut short when she was diagnosed with cancer in February 2019. After a brief stay at GraceHospital, Judy passed away peacefully at home.
The family would like to thank Dr. Cheng, the nurses and doctors at GraceHospital and the Palliative Care unit, and the staff from Home Instead Senior Care. A special thank you to Linda Nore for her loving care to Judy during her time at home.
A celebration of Judy’s life will be held at a later date.
The Halbert family gratefully decline flowers and ask that donations in memory of Judy be made to the Winnipeg Pet Rescue Shelter, 3062 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, ManitobaR3K 0K1.
