He soon took to working in the construction industry which he loved for over 40 years. He took great pride in his work, always striving to do his best. He had an uncanny memory for recalling names, places, dates and issues. Mario’s greatest pleasures in life came from spending time with his family and friends at his home. Mario loved to entertain with his homemade meals and a fine glass of wine. Mario spent countless hours teaching his children the love of his gardening, dancing and music, doing numerous projects around the house which always brought a smile to his face. Mario was an inspiration to all that knew him. His eagerness to learn, his empathy, his wisdom and his gentle guiding spirit. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. There are truly not many who could match his love and compassion for all his family and friends. Our family would like to send special thanks to all who visited and helped care for Mario in his last few weeks. Words can not express the outpouring of support from everyone. Special thanks to Rick and Leonard for all you’ve done and being by his side. We would like to thank Cancercare team, Palliative care, Southeast Health for your care and compassion which will never be forgotten. You were a very strong man who fought a very difficult battle. You never gave up or let it take control working till the end. We will always be very proud of you and love you very much. You left me the greatest gift and you will live on forever through your children. We will always love you like we say “I love you to the moon and back” Till we meet again TE QUIERO MUCHO!
