We met Del through researching her family history. She came to visit us here in Yorkshire a few times and we used to chat over email on the telephone long after we had finished the family tree. She was a very kind and generous lady who was much loved and who will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her over here in the UK and around the world.

Dear Tom, Sean and Families
I was very sad to hear of Del's passing. I met her when we worked together with the Manitoba Transplant Program. I have always held Del in High Regard as a Transplant Coordinator, Mentor and very Dear Friend. Her compassion and professionalism while dealing with patients and donor families was admirable. As an Educator she held high standards and always had an open door for anyone with questions or issues to discuss. Del was also very well respected in Transplant Programs across Canada. And anyone who knew Del knew she was always giving of herself, offering support if she saw a need,
Del was very proud of her family, always sharing updates! Especially of
grandchildren and Shelties!!
May fond memories comfort you now and on days when you are missing Del the most.
With fondest regards and deepest sympathies,
Starr N. Beghin, RN (Transplant Coordinator)

Del – you truly will be missed – you’ve always been there for us, and there are no words that can express how grateful we are. So many memories…. I remember when mom had her car accident, you were on the first plane to Chicago to ensure that she was getting the best care - you made sure of that! When mom was better and able to travel, she wanted to visit her sisters back home in Winnipeg. She flew in, you picked her up and opened up your home taking great care of her. When Kenny and I came up to visit, you again opened up your doors and made us feel welcome – taking us all over Winnipeg as our Tour Guide. You not only showed us where mom and her family grew up but also where our family lived before moving to the States. When it came time for mom’s passing, she wanted to be buried with her mother “at home”. You helped us locate her final resting place and offered up your home, one more time, to hold a family reunion so the rest of the “Hicks Clan” could get together and celebrate mom's life. For these and so many other memories, you will always be with us. You’re now with all our families - give everyone a big hug and kiss from us. Wendy and Kenny
