Best guy ever. Loved his sense of humour and his giving personality. Wish I could be half the person he was.

Our sincere condolences to the Hodnett families.
We have known Ted for the past 50 years. During that time we spent some time travelling (L.A., Vegas, Grand Forks and to the lake) sometimes with Trevor and Travis, too. We also visited each other a lot, and looked forward to Ted’s Saturday afternoon visits. He had a lot of great jokes to tell, and was always making us laugh at something.
Since he had his stroke, Ted and I had become phone friends on a daily basis. Sometimes it was more than once a day, but we always had a good laugh! Doug would try to see him once a week, to bring him a few of his favourite things to eat like KUB bread, hot dogs and perogies just for a treat. Ted always looked forward to the visits with Doug, and especially from our dog Smokey. I have really been missing our phone calls, Ted, and Doug will be missing his visits with you. P.S. I still have the last message you left me. Saving that one!!
We will always remember you, and have you in our hearts.
No more pain and sorrow. Rest In Peace Teddy Bear!
Doug, Doreen and Steven Kaniuga (long time friends)

We would like to send our condolences to Ted’s family. My friendship with “HUD” started in Middlechurch and continued to this time. When I thought he was coming down the lane to see me I think it was mostly to see my brother Ray and my dad Joe Cherlan. We all hung out around my dad’s truck. It was always fun and lots of laughter. I’m so glad we could still share memories about that time. I know Ted loved it there as much as I did. He loved to talk about his family, a family he was so proud of. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.
Gail (Cherlan) and Dwight Armstrong (friends forever)

Dear Bonnie and Family, I am so sorry for your loss! Ted was a very good friend to my husband Ed, (Ed's Saw Service), and to me. When Ed was stuck or when he was sick, Ted always stepped up and did his work for him, We were so blessed for knowing him. Heaven now has two great Saw Sharpeners getting the work done up there! Please give me a call when you find time. Take care of yourself and your family. LOL Joyce

We would like to offer our condolences to the family, I knew Ted since junior high, we all know who we are getting into trouble together. I bought my first car a 1951 Ford Coach from Ted never did get that car on the road ha ha. We had a ton of stories together and with friends over the years he was always a special and helpful Teddy Bear to all. Miss you! Jim and Pat Lamoureux

Uncle Ted was always so special to our family. He always made a point of making a big fuss over me when I was little. He would often whisper “pst, come here” and then slip a loonie in my hand. He was my Dad’s best friend, and I’m sure he will miss their daily phone calls. Safe journey Uncle Ted

I grew up with Ted in my life and celebrated many holidays with him, I have great memories of playing along Melbourne Ave and its always been comforting as a child into an adult to visit Ted & Bonnie and Trevor & Travis. He was always big & jolly and usually making jokes with my Grandpa Bob MacKay that went over my head - but I'd laugh along anyway, trying to hang out with the adults. Last time I saw him was a few summers ago (a surprise visit) and we were both so happy to see each other. He was a great person and I will cherish the decades of memories I have. He will be missed but always remembered.
