It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, (baba), great-grandmother, sister, auntie and friend.
Mom leaves to mourn her passing, her loving children Darlene (Maureen), Wayne (Irene), Rick (Susan), and Tommy (Evelyn). Her grandchildren Derek (Carrie), Marcie (Adam), Ryan, Steve (Michelle), Natalie, Terry, Krysta (Will), Kevin, Krista (Dan), Jack (Laura), Kayla (Hassan) and great-grandchildren Alexyss, Teagan, Mackinly, Eloise, Hamilton, Mila, Oleksiy, Gavin, Jayden, Connor, Kendall and Casey as well as her brother Steve Zelych in Edmonton and many nieces and nephews.
Mom was predeceased by her husband Thomas (2004), parents John (1970) and Mary (2006), sister Anne (1988) and brother Bill (2008). Mom will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Mom and Dad married on June 5, 1943 shortly before Dad left to serve in the Second World War. Mom was a stay at home mom, raising four crazy kids. She was an outstanding homemaker and wonderful cook during some very poor times. As the kids grew older she found time to work outside the home working at The Bay, Millionaire Drive Inn and Naleways.
Mom and Dad made many friends on their daily visits to Kildonan Place. Mom carried on this tradition when Dad passed. She also loved going to bingo, as well as the casino to have a little fun. One thing Mom looked forward to was visiting the hairdresser every week. She would go in two hours early, spending time chatting and regaling all the girls with funny stories.
The family would like to thank Bethania Personal Care Home for the wonderful care Mom received.
Mama, you have left us a legacy of unconditional love towards family and friends. We will miss you till the end of time. Say Hi to Pop when you see him. We love you.
Respecting Agnes’ wishes there will be no formal service.
